Air Circuit Breaker Maintenance Serivces
It never fails to surprise us just how many Customers do not undertake pro-active maintenance on their critical LV ACB devices, when you take into account the costs and commercial ramifications associated with down time. When you consider that it takes on average about an hour to maintain an ACB which can be done at a pre-planned time, then compare it to the likely down time of a unit failure, calling in someone on emergency rates to assess the problem, then finding and fitting appropriate spare parts or making the repair, plus the inevitable management time lost in trying to find a quick solution to the problem, it just doesn't make any sort of commercial sense. Yet in this age of cost reduction and maximising assets, pressure is on businesses to spend the minimum amount possible whilst retaining maximum output and it is akin to high-stakes gambling. Get away with it for a year, and you think you're ahead, but then do you stick or twist for the next year?
But what exactly are your obligations as an owner of Electrical Switchgear?
There are clear guidelines set out by the HSE in their document HSG230 entitled "Keeping Electrical Switchgear Safe" of what the minimum standards of record keeping and maintenance are that should be undertaken, and the role of Technical Support companies, such as ourselves in assisting owners of Switchgear to undersand their options.
We offer sensible, tailored, maintenance plans in conjunction with Customer's specific operating environments. We can help you put together maintenance schedules that suit your business, and keep your plant operating, and your personnel safe.
